1. MINECRAFT

Minecraft is a sandbox game developed by Mojang Studios. This game was created by Markus "Notch" Persson in the Java programming language. After some initial private test builds, it was first published in May 2009 and then fully released in November 2011 when Notch stepped down and Jens "Jeb" Bergensten took over development. Minecraft is the best-selling video Game of all time, with over 238 million copies sold and nearly 140 million monthly active players as of 2021, and has been ported to multiple platforms.

In Minecraft, players explore a blocky, procedurally generated 3D world with virtually endless terrain and can explore and mine resources, craft tools, and items, and construct structures, earthworks, and simple machinery. Depending on the game mode chosen, players can fight against hostile mobs as well as cooperate or compete with other players in the same world. Game modes include survival mode (in which players must acquire resources to build the world and maintain health) and creative mode (where players have unlimited resources and access to flight). There is also a wide variety of user-generated content such as mods, servers, skins, texture packs, and custom maps that add new gameplay mechanics and options.

Minecraft received critical acclaim, won several awards, and was later cited as one of the greatest video games of all time. Social media, parodies, adaptations, merchandise, and the annual Minecon convention played a significant role in popularizing the game. The game has also been used in educational settings to teach chemistry, computer-aided design, and computer science. In 2014, Mojang and Minecraft intellectual property were bought by Microsoft for US$2.5 billion. 3. LEAGUE OF LEGENDS

Since its release in October 2009, League has been free-to-play and monetized through purchasable character mods. The game is available for Microsoft Windows and macOS.

The game pits two teams of five players against each other in player-versus-player combat, with each team occupying and defending their half of the map. Each of the ten players controls a character, known as a "champion", with unique abilities and different play styles. During the match, champions become stronger by collecting experience points, earning gold and buying items to defeat the opposing team. In League's main mode, Summoner's Rift, a team wins by pushing their way into an enemy base and destroying their "Nexus", Development of the game began around the time of the release of Grand Theft Auto IV and was shared by many Rockstar studios around the world. Much of the development work involved the creation of an open world, and several members of the team conducted field research in California to capture footage for the design team. The game's soundtrack features original music composed by a team of producers who have worked together for several years. It was released in September 2013 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, in November 2014 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, in April 2015 for Windows, and in March 2022 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Its success also spawned several spin-off video games, including a mobile version, a digital trading card game, and a turn-based role-playing game. A massively multiplayer online role-playing game based on the property is in development.
